Dodge Hits the Mark with the All-New 2013 Dodge Dart Compact Car

The Dodge brand is back in the compact sedan segment - in a big way ? as the all-new 2013 Dodge Dart will make its world debut at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan on January 9th, 2012. The latest edition to the Dodge family is built on a world class architecture and offers three technologically advanced, fuel-efficient and powerful 4 cylinder engines: a new 16-valve 2.0 litre, a 16 valve 1.4-litre MultiAir Intercooled Turbo, and a new 16 valve 2.4-litre MultiAir. The big new 8.4" stereos (confirmed) will be used with and without navigation, and backup cameras and 506-watt 9-speaker amps will be optional.

"It has been noted that the interior would be easily best-in-class, including a full animated center cluster ? when the car is turned on, the speedometer and gas gauge animate with the Dodge logo; leave your door open and a realistic 3D-rendered PF will show up in the EVIC with its door open. Turn by turn navigation includes a realistic car image; EVIC is seven inches diagonally, and as you drive, you see a flower growing if you are driving efficiently.

The colors are "young and hip." ... The LUX interior has a light leather, as seen in Journey, but with bright stitching, or black leather seats with red stitching. It has an aluminum-type dashboard which wraps around the radio, steering wheel and cluster, glowing around the edges. The RT and Lux model also come with mood lighting in the interior. There are lights near the passenger and driver feet, lights behind the interior door handles, lights in the center storage and lights in the bottom of both doors where you would keep maps and books.

The 2013 Dodge Dart has an advanced electronic display which looks like the one from the Chrysler 200C concept car, but is in reality, we believe, a set of analog gauges with a seven inch color TFT display ("floating island bezel") cleverly placed between them. The red glow comes from an optional lighting system, similar to ones already used by Chrysler, taking in both instrument cluster and center stack, continuing the integrated theme used by the Charger. Ambient lighting is also used in various other parts of the car, such as door handles and cup holders.
The interior will, following Fiat's customization fetish, be available in 14 different color-and-trim setups; there are to be a dozen exterior colors, as well. Interior space is top notch ? while the exterior is the size of a compact, the interior has the space of a mid-size, with best in class hip and shoulder room. Soft touch materials and ambient lighting are used throughout the cabin.
